Sienna Haralson has always been enchanted by fantastical worlds as a means of escape and play. Her illustrative oil paintings explore the lives of cowgirl witches in America’s Wild West era. She is often spellbound by weather phenomenon, wild horses, how light interacts with the natural world, and the expansive mountainous landscape of where she resides in western Montana. Sienna was classically trained in painting and then went on to study comics as visual storytelling. Alchemizing both of these studies, she brings a graphic style bursting with movement and saturated color harmonies to her traditional work. She recently returned to oil painting to create tangible work, get her hands dirty, and escape staring at screens.
